Happy Easter from Ocracoke Island!
Another island tradition is the community Easter egg hunt, a mad scramble of children that happens on Saturday. Here are my nephews at their Granny and Pop's house, fueled by sugar and adrenaline, racing each other in hopes of finding those rare eggs with a dollar bill tucked inside.
I have become one of those people who can't resist cute photos of the children they love. They look sort of sweet and calm here. Don't be fooled.
