Early Season on Ocracoke Island

April is perfect for an early season vacation on Ocracoke Island. Shops and restaurants are open, drum are biting at South Point, kites are snapping in the breeze along the beach. Yesterday I enjoyed a black 'n' blue burger at SMacNally's and this morning I lingered at the Ocracoke Coffee Co. No crowds, just locals coming out of hibernation and eager to see all the spring break visitors and one another.
