The expansion of the island's water plant is complete, and new meters are being installed, good news for property owners on Ocracoke who have been reliant on cisterns. Like me. I love my cistern water, just not the murk that comes out of the taps when the levels get really low. Cooler weather is coming, and I can take hot baths without anxiety that I'll pay for my extravagence later. Rinsing under a trickle is un-American. Bravo Ocracoke Sanitary District!
